1. 

The particulars of its organization, functions and duties;

The Embassy of India, Warsaw functions under the supervision of Ambassador. As such it discharges the following functions:

Bilateral and Multilateral Political Relations; Commercial and Economic Relations; Visa and Consular matters; and Culture, Education and Information. The Embassy functions within the purview of business allocated to the Ministry of External Affairs under the Government of India’s Allocation of Business Rules and Transaction of Business

The powers and duties of its officers and employees

General Administrative powers are derived from Indian Foreign Service Rules, as amended by the Ministry of External Affairs from time to time. Financial powers of the Officers of the Embassy of India have been detailed in the Delegated Financial powers of the Government of India’s Representative Abroad. Other powers are derived from the Passport Act of India. The officers of the Embassy function under the guidance and supervision of the Ambassador.

The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability

Decisions are taken under the supervision of the Ambassador, as directed by the Ministry of External Affairs from time to time.

Norms are specified by the Ministry of External Affairs

Indian Foreign Service (Pay, Leave, Compensatory Allowances and Other Conditions of Service) Rules and Annexures; Financial Powers of Government of India’s Representatives abroad Rules, Passport Act; Manual on Office Procedure; Other Central Government Rules and Manuals published by Central Government

The Embassy maintains files pertaining to Bilateral and Multilateral, Political and Commercial, Cultural, Education and Information Relations. In addition, it discharges consular and visa functions as laid downby Ministry of External Affairs in the Consular Manual and Visa Manual, respectively.

The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with, or representation by, the members of the public in relation to the formulation of its policy or implementation thereof

 

The Embassy does not consult the public in respect of policy formulation etc. However, public is invited to share their suggestions through emails and accessing the feedback option available on Embassy’s website.

All the requisite information regarding the functioning of the Embassy is available on its website: http://www.indianembassywarsaw.in/. The Embassy also disseminates relevant information to the Polish citizens regarding India, its people and culture in the form of CDs and DVDs, facebook, posts, pamphlets, brochures etc. which are freely made available to the public.

The Embassy has a library, however, it is not for public use.
