Celebration of ITEC Day, 18 March 2026


The Embassy celebrated ITEC Day on 18 March 2026 to commemorate the enduring spirit of partnership, capacity building and shared growth under the Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme, ongoing since 1964. In his opening remarks, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Shri Mohan Lal summarised the volume of ITEC programme and its reach to 160+ partner countries. He also extolled about India-Poland people-to-people linkages.


Ms. Kinga Gajewska, Member of Parliament and Head of the Polish-Indian Parliamentary Friendship Group recollected her visit as Gen. Next delegate. She was thankful to the GoI funding the ITEC and giving a chance to the beneficiaries for enhancing their skills under the ITEC programme. She also hailed about the recently concluded India and the EU FTA. At the same time, she urged to take forward India-Poland strategic partnership and enhance the economic linkages too.


Mr. Maciej Gutowski, grandson of late Mr. Roman Gutowski one of the former residents of Balachadi camp set by the Jamsaheb of Nawanagar, shared a brief summary of the visit of the Polish youth group to India under the Jamsaheb Memorial Youth Exchange Programme. Few ITEC alumnus recalled their ITEC training experiences too.


Promotional videos on ‘Incredible India’ and ‘Invest India’ were also screened followed by two Kathak performances by the ICCR alumni Ms. Magdalena Niernsee and her students.


The event brought together distinguished alumni, partners and Friends of India who have been part of this transformative journey.
