The Embassy of India celebrated the 9th International Day of Yoga on 18 June 2023 at the Park Agrykola adjoining the Ujazdowski Palace in central Warsaw. The open-air Yoga Session was attended by several hundred practitioners including members of the diplomatic community, Polish Yoga lovers and overseas Indians.
2.?In her address, Ambassador Nagma M. Mallick, recalling the United Nations General Assembly resolution declaring 21 June as the International Day of Yoga, noted that this day had come to be celebrated around the world by Yoga lovers. She quoted the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi who has said, “Yoga’s appeal today has truly transcended cultural linguistic boundaries, and it has become a global phenomenon.” Ambassador Mallick went on to remark that one of the pleasures of living in Poland was seeing Yoga being practised widely and regularly by the Polish.
3.?All the participants at the Yoga session practised the Common Yoga Protocol developed by the Government of India as an introduction to Yoga. We thank our partner organisations, the Art of Living Foundation, India International Foundation, COSMO International and the Indo-Polish Sports & Cultural Council for helping us to host the International Day of Yoga. We also thank all participants including Amb Lukaszuk, former Ambassador of Poland to India for joining us today.
