Conversion of handwritten PIO to machine-readable OCI cards

All PIO cardholders are requested to obtain Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards.

As only machine-readable travel documents will be accepted from October 2018 onwards as per the ICAO guidelines, the existing handwritten PIO cards will become invalid and should, therefore, be get replaced with machine-readable OCI cards, well before the deadline of 31 December 2017.
